FRIDAY FOOD CLUB?

This past Friday, Food Club ventured past Flushing to a part of Brooklyn so remote you have to take an airplane to get to the nearest subway. A huge lunch was had at Micklethwaite Craft Meats in Austin, Texas. I will leave it to Dave to comment on the brisket and the jalapeno cheese grits and bespoke handcrafted artisinal sausages.

FUFU FIGHTERS

What the heck is this? It's like a ball of pizza dough. It's like the Michelin Man made of raw pizza dough. It gets inside and then it jiggles around and finds a place to hang out, and then it ain't goin' nowheres. If you have to walk eight miles to get water, this is the kind of thing you need to be eating. But if you are sitting in a bar listening to swing music, it might cause drowsiness.

BOB DYLAN, THE TURKEY

It was not an expedition per se, at least not for any of us except for Bob who traveled the furthest even though he was locally sourced.

Candidates For Manchurian?

Welcome to Wednesday Food Adventure Queens Excursion Club! The point of Wednesday Food Adventure Queens Excursion Club is that it happens every Wednesday so there doesn't have to be tons of email and text about what day it's happening. That's because it happens on Wednesday. Everybody Wednesday. If on the off chance that nobody with a car can make it, we can always go to Great Wall on Manhattan Avenue. Kicking it off this week, per Bradford's email, with a trip to Flushing. Last week's epic meal at Fu Run, muslim lamb chops:
